Mercy Haven Shines in September!

Updated: Feb 26

On Tuesday, September 12th, Executive Director S. Patricia Griffith was honored to be among a distinguished group of well-deserving recipients of the prestigious Angel Award, which the Equity Foundation presented during a heartfelt ceremony in Hauppauge. This annual event serves as a platform to celebrate the remarkable achievements of women from Long Island who have excelled in their respective fields and made significant contributions to the community at large. The Angel Awards specifically recognize those who have profoundly impacted critical areas such as community service, volunteerism, philanthropy, and business development. These awards highlight the dedication and hard work of women who have gone above and beyond to uplift others, fostering collaboration and support within their communities. The ceremony was attended by various local leaders, community members, and supporters, all coming together to honor the inspiring work of these exceptional women, including Griffith, who has demonstrated unwavering commitment to her mission and has become a role model for many aspiring leaders. The event not only celebrated individual accomplishments but also served as a reminder of women's collective strength and resilience in the Long Island area, encouraging future generations to continue this important work and strive for excellence in all endeavors.

The following week, on Thursday, September 21st, S. Pat accepted the Caritas Medal on behalf of Mercy Haven during the Vincentian Convocation at St. John’s University, an award bestowed in recognition of the agency’s significant service to the community.
